CRC and its partners have established a track record in offering policy advice and in consultancy to raise the effectiveness of regulation. These inputs may be of a short duration involving, for instance, policy advice directly to regulators based on research findings or be of a more extended duration in which a group of staff are involved and the process of regulation is examined in more detail. CRC partners all have specialist knowledge and skill in understanding the local context for regulation and in suggesting new approaches for improvement. Inputs by CRC partners in the regulatory sector and in the development of competition policy can be supplemented, if necessary, by expert visits from CRC in Manchester.
